Now, Eevee looks kind of like a dog right? Well, I think they chose that specific design because it would make more sense to us. I mean our dogs are extremely varied, with excellent swimmers (Vaporeon?), mountain rescue dogs (Glaceon?), and everything from Chihuahuas to Great Danes. Sure, they could have chosen something like birds which are also diverse, but dogs specifically have been bred by us for a wide variety of useful or weird purposes. Also most dogs can interbreed, so they are still the same species. Not all birds can do that.

Anyway, that’s my take on it, so keep it or feed it to your Flareon.
